Storybook Generator ("the Service") is operated by Crunchy #s, LLC, doing business as Crunchy Tools ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website at storybook.crunchy.tools.

Account Information

When you sign in with Google, we receive and store:

Your name and email address (from your Google account)
Your Google profile photo URL
A unique user identifier

Generated Content

We store the storybooks you create, including:

Story text, titles, and settings you provide
AI-generated illustrations and captions
Uploaded files (PDFs, EPUBs, text files) used as story sources
Character reference photos you upload (for the Hanukkah feature)

Payment Information

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy (powered by Stripe). We do not store your credit card number or full payment details. We receive and store:

Order confirmation and transaction IDs
The credit package purchased and amount paid
Your email address as provided to the payment processor

Automatically Collected Information

Basic usage analytics via Vercel Analytics (page views, performance metrics)
Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, request timestamps)

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and improve the Service (generating and storing your storybooks)
To manage your account and credit balance
To process payments and fulfill credit purchases
To enable sharing of completed storybooks via public share links
To communicate with you about your account if necessary
To monitor and improve performance and reliability

3. Cookies and Tracking

We use the following cookies and similar technologies:

Authentication cookies — to keep you signed in (essential)
Supabase session tokens — to maintain your authenticated session
Vercel Analytics — privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics for page views and performance

We do not use third-party advertising trackers or sell your data to advertisers.

4. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Storybook Generator is a tool for parents and guardians to create illustrated storybooks for their children. The Service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

All accounts must be created by adults (parents or guardians) using Google authentication. The AI-generated content is age-appropriate based on settings chosen by the parent or guardian.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at contact@crunchy.tools and we will promptly delete such information.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate:

Google OAuth — for account authentication
Google Gemini AI — to generate story text and illustrations (your story input is sent to Google's AI API for processing)
Supabase — for database storage and authentication infrastructure
Lemon Squeezy / Stripe — for payment processing
Vercel — for hosting and analytics

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy governing their use of data.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your account information and generated storybooks for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at contact@crunchy.tools.

Upon receiving a deletion request, we will:

Delete your account and profile information
Delete all generated storybooks and associated content
Delete uploaded files and character photos
Retain only transaction records as required by law

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication tokens, and row-level security policies on our database. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate information
Request deletion of your account and data
Export your generated storybooks (via PDF or ZIP export)

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
